ILA 2016: Space for Earth | The amazing world of Space under one roof

Space Technology is an important driving force for environment protection, communication, education, security, mobility and also for the development and application of new technologies. Discoveries from space are shaping our everyday life and they are an important base for decision-making in science, economy, politics and society.
ILA 2016 celebrated the importance of Space Technology with an internationally unique exhibition focus.
The ILA Space Pavilion | One of the highlights of ILA 2016
A joint presentation of the partners Ministry of Economics and Energy, ESA European Space Agency and DLR German Space Agency, together with member companies of BDLI German Aerospace Industries Association, demonstrated national and European competencies in Space Technology on an exhibit space of 1,500sqms in hall 4. The exhibits were featuring some main topics of the ESA Ministers Conference 2016, as well as various international space co-operation projects. The ILA Space Pavilion attracted as much as 64,000 visitors.
ILA SPACE DAY | Highest level dialogue platform for the international space industry
With the slogan “Changing Space – Challenges and Opportunities for Space”, the ILA Space Day of the partners ESA, DLR and BDLI was dealing with the ever-changing space technology landscape worldwide, the challenges stemming from it and the related chances and opportunities for the German and European space industries.
The Space Day stood under the patronage of Mr. Sigmar Gabriel, Federal Minister for Economics of Germany. Among the high ranking international participants was Dr. Dava Newman, Deputy Director of NASA and Mr. Elliot Pulham, CEO of Space Foundation.
ILA Space Community showcasing space technology highlights
High ranking guests of ILA could gather firsthand information on various topics of the Space Industries at the Space Exhibition, the Space Day and during numerous space related conferences and receptions in the ILA Space Pavilion and at the booths of the national and international Space Community in the hall 4. On an exhibit space of 3,000 sqms, they could meet exhibitors like Arianespace, Aerea, A.S.I., ASSAD, Astro-Feinwerktechnik, AVISMA, bavAIRia, DLR, DGLR, Fraunhofer, Hydro Mash, IABG, Irkut, Ivchenko, Motor Sich, OHB, Jena-Optronics, SCYSIS, SJAC, Telespazio VEGA Deutschland, Tesat-Sapcecom.
